When most people from other parts of the world think of visiting Southern California, they think about all the sights to see in Hollywood and all the excitement that the city of Los Angeles itself has to offer. But Malibu is another very iconic area in So Cal and there is a reason why the rich and famous make their incredibly pricey homes along this glorious stretch of sand and surf. The beaches in Malibu are some of the most beautiful in the world, and you don’t need to be a millionaire with a Malibu home in order to enjoy these incredible beaches.
Zuma beach is one of Malibu’s best known beaches, known throughout the area and even around the world for its first-class surf and its wide, long stretch of sand. Zuma is easy to get to, located right off the Pacific Coast Highway, and is open to public, unlike quite a few other beaches in Malibu. Zuma has working lifeguards on duty all day long and even has restrooms, food stands, and access to a lot of fun beach activities. In addition to surfing you can kite or bodyboard, kayak, windsurf or start up a game of beach volleyball. Zuma has been the locale for several famous film scenes, including the end scene in “Planet of the Apes” and the opening scene in “I Dream of Jeannie.” A visit to Zuma will definitely give you a taste of how the Hollywood elite live each and every day in magnificent Malibu.
