Playa Paraiso – In the Shadows of History

Playa Paraiso would be a fun and beautiful beach to visit if it were anywhere in the world, but its location in Tulum, Mexico makes it an even more special beach because of its proximity to such an important ruin. Tulum is in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico and was a place of worship and important spiritual meaning for the Mayan people. It is home to the Tulum ruins, which draw millions of visitors each year.

Just north of the ruins is Playa Paraiso. This gorgeous beach has become quite popular with tourists visiting the ruins as well as day-trippers coming over from Cancun. Because of its burst in activity over the years, Playa Paraiso is now a busy beach with plenty of opportunities for scuba diving or snorkeling, and some spots for lounging on the beach to do nothing. The two extremes of hiking and climbing the ancient wonder that is the Tulum ruins and then being able to head over and relax on this idyllic beach makes Playa Paraiso a unique beach spot that is not to be missed.
