The Versatile Island of St. Lucia

In the southern Caribbean Sea, close to where it meets the Atlantic Ocean, you’ll find the charming island of St. Lucia. Located pretty far south in the chain of Caribbean islands, St. Lucia is closer to South America than it is North America and this makes it a glorious warm weather destination to visit during the wintertime.

Because St. Lucia was so volcanic at one time it is more mountainous than the other Caribbean Islands, which makes for glorious scenery throughout the island. St. Lucia has an unbeatable combination of rolling green hills and jagged mountains, the clear blue of the sky and water, and the one-of-a-kind stretches of beach filled with the whitest of white sands and the blackest of black volcanic sands. The island is so lush there are times you’ll feel like you’re in a completely undiscovered jungle and then you’ll suddenly come out onto an undisturbed beach that is dotted with swaying palm trees and breathtakingly beautiful. There are beaches on St. Lucia that are popular and easily accessible and others that can only be reached by hiking for three hours. The island has a wide range of well-traveled or secluded spots and that also includes hotels, restaurants and shops as well. There truly is something for everyone’s tastes on St. Lucia along with lots and lots of sunshine and warm temperatures.
